I could tell by watching Pinkard work that this was going to be an excellent project. Anytime we brought up an issue they were on top of it - picking up something off the floor or a major redesign.

Pinkard Construction and RNL worked with the City and County of Denver in a design build relationship to design and construct the Central Platte Campus maintenance facility and office complex at 1271 West Bayaud Avenue.

The Central Platte Campus replaces and consolidates several other Public Works administrative and operations functions from other city and county yard locations.

The 33-acre, multi-building campus includes:

  • Fleet maintenance building (structural steel and site-cast concrete wall panels)
  • Office/warehouse/shops space (structural steel and site-cast concrete wall panels)
  • Fueling station/large truck wash facility (preengineered metal buildings)
  • Salt dome and magnesium chloride storage area (pre-engineered wood-panels);
  • Heated and covered parking (pre-engineered metal buildings)

The shops area provides space for numerous Public Works departments including:

  • Meters and Denver Boot
  • Traffic Signage and Signals
  • Solid Waste

Pinkard had such a good plan, they never had to play catch-up. If you never have to play catch-up, you can devote your time to producing quality.
I am not accustomed to seeing this kind of thoroughness in preconstruction.
