Core Market
The Athletic Club at Denver Place features a large aerobic area, three racquetball courts, two squash courts, running track, full basketball court, 4-lane lap pool with whirlpool, nautilus room, and cardiovascular area. Both men’s and women’s locker rooms feature steam and sauna facilities.

This unique 3-story project is built in the courtyard between the plaza at Denver Place Plaza Tower and Embassy Suites Hotel and extends over the Curtis Street pedestrian bridge to Denver Place North and South Towers. The octagon shaped addition in the courtyard, which is the structural deck over three parking levels, required extensive engineering to revise all the main beam loads to reduce tonnage and simplify installation.

This project also required extensive demolition of the areas surrounding the bridge and because of the location of the project and load limits, the demolition was done by hand with a minimal amount of small equipment.

Pinkard performed a extensive preconstruction services and value engineering to bring this project within budget.

Through systems analysis and constructability reviews, Pinkard worked with the Owner and Architect to develop a feasible budget that did not compromise the original design intent and integrity.
