Lakewood, Colorado — Pinkard Construction Company has been selected as construction manager/general contractor for the new Eastern Star Masonic Retirement Community (ESMRC) project.
The $10.8 million project at Quebec Street and East Harvard Avenue in Denver includes full CM/GC services, an interior renovation, and a wood-frame, brick, stucco and stone ground-up addition to the existing ESMRC facility.
The new addition will be a two-story structure with 48 assisted living units and 20 units of memory care. The addition is expected to total 64,000 sf, and will include approximately 50% common area space with a memory garden, commercial kitchen, and front entrance/lobby.
The renovation will include new carpet, paint and door replacements throughout.
The existing facility includes 42 assisted living (AL) units and 58 independent living cottages. Approximately 50% of the current ESMRC residents have a Masonic background. In addition, approximately 50% of the AL residents receive support from Medicaid.
Pinkard is currently completing the preconstruction phase with architect of record Lee Architects. Construction is expected to commence October 2013.
As a Colorado leader in senior living construction, Pinkard has provided CM/GC services for over $170 million in senior living facilities in the past ten years.
